Panchanga & Spiritual Guidance – 05 September 2025 | Teachers’ Day, Pradosh Vrat & Onam

Spiritual Thought of the Day
“A teacher plants seeds of wisdom, a devotee sows seeds of faith, both blossoming into eternal light.”

 Festival Highlights

Teachers’ Day
Today, India celebrates Teachers’ Day, honoring the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. It is a day to express gratitude towards teachers who shape lives with knowledge, values, and inspiration. Schools and communities pay respect through cultural events, tributes, and heartfelt messages.

Pradosh Vrat (Shukla Paksha Trayodashi)
Pradosh Vrat is a sacred fast dedicated to Lord Shiva, observed during the twilight hours. Devotees perform puja with bilva leaves, milk, and chanting of Om Namah Shivaya. This vrat is believed to remove sins, bestow health, peace, and divine blessings. Evening worship during Pradosh Kaal is highly auspicious.

Onam Festivities
The Onam festival continues in Kerala, marked by grand feasts (Onam Sadhya), floral decorations (Pookalam), Vallamkali (snake boat races), folk dances, and community gatherings. It symbolizes abundance, equality, and the legendary return of King Mahabali.
