Spiritual Significance of 20 October 2025: Naraka Chaturdashi – Cleansing Darkness, Welcoming Light

Spiritual Thought of the Day

"When we cleanse our hearts of darkness, the divine light finds its home within."

Day Significance

Naraka Chaturdashi, also known as Chhoti Diwali or Kali Chaudas, is the day before the grand Diwali festival. It commemorates Lord Krishna’s victory over the demon Narakasura, symbolizing the destruction of ignorance and negativity.
Devotees begin their day with an early morning oil bath (Abhyanga Snān), believed to remove impurities and invite health, prosperity, and happiness. Homes are then decorated with lamps and rangoli, and families perform Lakshmi–Ganesha Puja in the evening to welcome light, wealth, and positivity.

This day serves as a reminder to purify the mind and soul — embracing light, kindness, and divine grace.
