Spiritual Significance of 7 October 2025: Valmiki Jayanti, Purnima, and Regional Traditions

Spiritual Thought of the Day
“May wisdom guide our words, compassion fill our hearts, and truth illuminate our paths — just as Sage Valmiki’s verses continue to inspire humanity.”

Festival Highlights

Valmiki Jayanti
This sacred day celebrates the birth of Sage Valmiki — author of the Ramayana and revered as Adi Kavi, the first poet of India. Across Karnataka and India, devotees honor his life through processions, Ramayana recitations, and bhajans. In Mysuru, cultural programs and gatherings at Kalamandira feature dignitaries and devotees sharing Valmiki’s message of transformation and virtue.

Ashwin Purnima / Kartik Snan Commencement
This Purnima marks the transition into the Kartik month and the beginning of Kartik Snan — a period of holy river baths symbolizing purification and renewal. Many perform early morning prayers and offer water to the Sun God before sunrise.

Regional Observances – Sirimanotsavam (Andhra & South India)
