Today’s Hindu Significance & Panchanga – 14 November 2025

Today, 14 November 2025, marks the spiritually important Krishna Paksha Dashami in the auspicious month of Kartika. Kartika is revered as one of the holiest months in the Hindu calendar, dedicated to deep devotion, personal discipline, and the worship of Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. Every day of this month is believed to hold special divine energy, encouraging devotees to practice truthfulness, charity, and inner purification.

Even though the date also coincides with Children’s Day in India, symbolizing joy, innocence, and the beauty of childhood, the spiritual backdrop of Kartika lends an additional layer of meaning. It becomes a day to cherish simplicity, reconnect with purity of heart, and cultivate childlike devotion—qualities often highlighted in Hindu scriptures.

Krishna Paksha Dashami is considered a favourable day for daily worship, ancestral remembrance, and introspection. It is not traditionally chosen for starting highly significant ventures, but it is excellent for continuing ongoing spiritual practices, chanting mantras, performing daily puja, and offering gratitude for life’s blessings. Devotees often use this day to light lamps, visit temples, read sacred texts, and perform small acts of kindness.

What’s Special Today According to Hindu Rituals?

Tithi: Krishna Paksha Dashami
Dashami during the waning phase of the moon encourages a calm and steady mind. It supports spiritual cleansing and is ideal for performing Pitru Tarpana (ancestral prayers), routine puja, and self-discipline. It’s a day to let go of negativity and embrace mental peace.

Nakshatra: Purva Phalguni
Purva Phalguni is associated with creativity, affection, warmth, and relaxation. Under this nakshatra, activities that involve beauty, harmony, artistic expression, and social bonding gain positive energy. It inspires acts of generosity and expressing affection toward loved ones.

Yoga: Vaidhriti Yoga
Vaidhriti Yoga traditionally carries mixed energy. It is generally not ideal for starting new, major projects or making critical life decisions. However, it is considered perfectly suitable for ongoing tasks, spiritual activities, meditation, and inner work. If needed, important tasks can be carried out during auspicious muhurta windows.

Favourable Activities

  • Visiting temples or performing Vishnu/Satyanarayana and Shiva puja

  • Lighting lamps and offering tulsi, which is especially auspicious in Kartika

  • Chanting mantras, reading the Gita, or performing bhajans

  • Acts of charity, feeding cows, or offering food to the needy

  • Spending time in meditation and gratitude

Caution for the Day

Since Vaidhriti Yoga is present, individuals are advised to avoid:
